Perbedaan Interval Training Dan Senam Aerobik Terhadap Peningkatan Endurance Pada Mahasiswa Perokok Aktif
Differences Between Interval Training and Aerobic Exercise on Endurance Improvement in Active-Smoking University Students
Abstract
Paparan asap rokok pada perokok aktif dapat menurunkan fungsi kardiorespirasi sehingga berdampak pada penurunan daya tahan (endurance) dapat menyebabkan mahasiswa mudah lelah dan menurunkan konsentrasi belajar. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan latihan fisik yang efektif untuk meningkatkan endurance. Penelitian ini membandingkan efektivitas interval training dan senam aerobik dalam meningkatkan endurance pada mahasiswa perokok aktif. Untuk mengetahui perbedaan pengaruh interval training dan senam aerobik terhadap peningkatan endurance pada mahasiswa Universitas ‘Aisyiyah Yogyakarta. Metode kuantitatif dengan desain quasi experimental dan pendekatan pre-test and post-test two group design. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 32 mahasiswa yang dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling dan dibagi menjadi dua kelompok, yaitu kelompok interval training dan kelompok senam aerobik, masing-masing sebanyak 16 orang. Intervensi diberikan selama 4 minggu dengan frekuensi latihan 3 kali dalam seminggu. Pengukuran daya tahan dilakukan menggunakan Harvard step test. Analisis data menggunakan independent sample t-test diperoleh nilai p = 0,189 (p > 0,05), yang menunjukkan bahwa tidak terdapat perbedaan pengaruh yang signifikan antara interval training dan senam aerobik terhadap peningkatan endurance. Interval training dan senam aerobik sama-sama terbukti dapat meningkatkan daya tahan endurance mahasiswa perokok aktif. Namun, tidak terdapat perbedaan pengaruh yang signifikan antara interval training dan senam aerobik terhadap peningkatan endurance, sehingga kedua jenis latihan memiliki efektivitas yang relatif sama dalam meningkatkan daya tahan mahasiswa.
