Efektivitas Kombinasi Elektroterapi, Terapi Manual dan Latihan Penguatan untuk Meningkatkan Fungsi Bahu pada Shoulder Impingement Syndrome
The Effectiveness of Electrotherapy, Manual Therapy and Exercise Therapy to Improve Shoulder Function in Shoulder Impingement Syndrome
Abstract
Shoulder impingement syndrome adalah cedera akibat trauma mekanis dari tendon rotator cuff yang berada di bagian antero-inferior dari acromion. Hal ini mengakibatkan penjepitan pada posisi fleksi dan internal rotasi shoulder. Cedera ini ditandai dengan keluhan nyeri disekitar sendi bahu disertai keterbatasan gerak, rasa nyeri yang hilang timbul, khususnya pada malam hari. Pada studi kasus ini, seorang pria berusia 55 tahun didiagnosa shoulder impingement syndrome akibat supraspinatus tendinitis pada bahu kanan sejak tiga bulan yang lalu diberikan penangan fisioterapi berupa terapi ultrasound; terapi manual berupa massage, mobilisasi dan traksi pada shoulder dan scapula, dan terapi latihan seperti stretching dan strengthening dengan frekuensi satu kali seminggu, intensitas 30-45 menit dalam lima minggu. Hasil dari pemberian kombinasi elektroterapi, terapi manual dan terapi latihan didapatkan terjadi penurunan nyeri sebesar hingga 4 poin, peningkatan lingkup gerak sendi hingga 50 derajat, peningkatan kekuatan otot hingga 2 tingkatan, dan peningkatan fungsional pasien hingga 23,84%. Disimpulkan bahwa kombinasi eletroterapi, menual terapi dan terapi latihan dapat meningkatkan aktivitas fungsional bahu pasien pada kasus shoulder impingement syndrome akibat supraspinatus tendinitis.
