Aplikasi NMES, IR, serta Terapi Latihan Pada Pasien Post Stroke: Laporan Kasus
NMES, IR, and Exercise to Post Stroke Patients: case report
Abstract
NMES banyak digunakan untuk pengobatan manajemen nyeri, penguatan otot dan pemulihan sensorimotor. Pasien wanita usia 60 tahun datang ke poli fisioterapi dengan diagnosa medis Hemiparese sinistra et causa Stroke non Hemoragic. Hemiparese adalah salah satu gangguan yang menonjol akibat stroke yang mempengaruhi aktivitas hidup sehari-hari dan kualitas hidup. Cedera otak seperti stroke menyebabkan kerusakan dan kematian sel-sel neuron. Kerusakan otak diproyeksikan menuju kecacatan pada fungsi motorik, gangguan fungsi kognitif yang mengakibatkan hilangnya kemampuan dalam kinerja fungsional (Nudo, 2007). NMES mengaktifkan sistem sensorik-motor melalui pulsa listrik ke saraf dan otot dan memfasilitasi gerakan sukarela dan penguatan otot. Dalam beberapa penelitian sebelumnya di jelaskan bahwa Stimulasi listrik neuromuskular (NMES) pada ekstremitas dinilai aman dan murah serta berpotensi memfasilitasi pemulihan dalam hal kekuatan otot, keseimbangan berdiri, peningkatan kecepatan berjalan, dan aktivitas sehari-hari. Intervensi yang diberikan dalam laporan kasus ini berupa NMES ditambah dengan IR serta terapi latihan. Hal yang membedakan artikel ini dengan artikel NMES yang sudah ada sebelumnya adalah penentuan goals yang realistis karena kembali melihat realita keadaan pasien yang tidak memungkinkan untuk mencapai goals pada artikel artikel lain seperti berdiri dan berjalan.
